At Collective Health, our core values serve as guiding principles that inspire us to make a difference in the healthcare industry. By connecting with empathy, daring to solve hard problems, engaging authentically, following our curiosity, and demonstrating exemplary leadership, we find the strength and motivation to follow our mission to revolutionize healthcare in the U.S. 

Each spring, we come together to celebrate and honor five individuals who truly embody these values and have made a significant impact on our organization and beyond. Recipients of the Values Awards are chosen by their peers and a committee of past winners, who carefully review the nominations to identify those most deserving of this distinction.

Connect with empathy

By connecting with empathy, we strive to understand and address the unique needs of every member, customer, or colleague we meet. 

Juan, Client Success Enablement Specialist, has demonstrated his ability to connect on a personal level with colleagues and customers alike — his work has not only improved client satisfaction but also inspired his colleagues to approach their work with empathy and compassion. “There’s no one I’d rather be assigned to work on a project with,” said one team member. “I know the moment I get on a Zoom, I’ll be greeted with a smile and enthusiasm to dig in and understand.”

Dare to solve hard problems

We dare to solve hard problems, pushing the boundaries of innovation to find creative solutions that improve the healthcare experience for all.

Ahmet, Staff Software Engineer, is known for his relentless pursuit of innovative solutions to complex challenges and his ability to communicate and share his knowledge so that others can learn how to solve similar problems. His team members say he’s known for his vast contributions to the Engineering knowledge base, authoring posts and answering questions on a wide range of topics. 

“His tenacity and curiosity has an outsize impact, not just on the Dev side of the organization, but the coworkers as well,” said one colleague.

Engage authentically

Through engaging authentically, we foster meaningful relationships with our customers, partners, and colleagues, creating a collaborative environment that drives positive change.

John, Strategic Initiatives Manager, takes a genuine, sincere approach to building relationships and meeting people where they are, which has fostered a culture of trust and collaboration on his team and beyond. 

“He got to know [his colleagues] on a personal level, understanding what motivates them, what inspires them,” said one team member. “He is all the time evaluating how he can best engage with his peers and colleagues to elevate the performance of those around him.”

Follow our curiosity

We encourage our colleagues to follow their curiosity, constantly seeking new knowledge and insights to challenge the status quo and drive meaningful change. 

Judy, Business Systems Analyst, is steadfast in her commitment to continuous learning and exploration, which has inspired her colleagues to embrace their own curiosity. Judy has become a true subject matter expert in her role in a short amount of time, but continues to expand her knowledge by working to understand each differing perspective on her team’s projects.

“She’s constantly asking, ‘Why is it like that?’ or ‘How come we’re doing it that way?’ And then, she goes to ‘What else can I do to make this feel better?’ or ‘What can I do to make it function better?’” said one colleague. “She’s never done when she gets the answer and she’s constantly working on making everything she touches just a little bit better.”

Exemplary leadership

We believe that exemplary leadership is crucial in driving our mission forward, and we celebrate managers who embody our values and inspire their teams to achieve greatness.

Hannah, Manager, Care Navigation, inspires and empowers her team by consistently rising to the challenge and working tirelessly to make sure projects under her supervision are completed to the highest standard. She is known for her ability to handle difficult situations with care, patience, and curiosity, all while making every person on her team feel like they belong.

“Hannah cares so deeply about the people that directly report to her as well as everyone else in our entire department and is so dedicated to learning things that would traditionally fall outside of her scope or education or work background,” said one team member.

As we celebrate the remarkable achievements of Juan, Ahmet, John, Judy, and Hannah, we are reminded of the profound impact that living our values can have on our organization and the healthcare industry as a whole. These individuals not only embody the essence of Collective Health’s mission but also inspire their peers to strive for excellence and innovation.
